The concerts were an outgrowth of the Mardi Gras House Floats effort created to help visual artists during the pandemic.
A few Laurel St. neighbors thought it would also be nice to help local musicians. So we shared the cost of hiring a band for a porch concert in February. The musicians were thrilled with the chance to play in front of an appreciative audience again.
And neighbors appreciated the chance to rekindle connections with their neighbors. It felt magical all around, so we kept the concerts going. And the goodwill has grown with each show.
We hope you’ve appreciated the concerts and find them helpful in getting to know your neighbors better. Or in having an opportunity to meet new families that have recently moved into the neighborhood.
